March, April, May aka Bike Season

Finish Line of the 2026 Midnight Boston Ride.

March had us waving goodbye to our local ski mountain for the season. Much fun was had with friends on the slopes this year. Tutus, coffee, sunshine and amazing grooming at West Mountain made for a fun snow sports season.

We rode the Boston Marathon course again this year. It was cold and wet an much less fun than previous rides, but we all 6 made it across the finish line and will be excited for what we can only hope is better weather next year.

Before we took a deep dive into bike training, Kelsey and the kids took a whirlwind trip to soak up some vitamin D in Florida. A true vacation, not a trip, there were no museums or hikes.

Then it was ‘Off to the Races’ with our New York NICA season – 3/4 of the Forrester’s competed in the NY season this year. They each improved their skills, confidence, and times over the season. Ending the season with some additional hardware.

Final podium of the season, Rayleigh fist bumping fellow racers.

Somewhere in the middle of the season it was decided that a trip to NYC was in order. The younger two Forrester’s hadn’t seen a show on Broadway and Rayleigh & Kelsey had recently seen a great show and were itching for more.
So we hopped the train with the grandparents and took in 2 NYC shows, lots of sights, and some good food, all while dodging raindrops.

Then it was back to more bikes. Kevin was joined this year at the Black Fly Challenge (a 40 mile gravel race in the Adirondacks) by Kelsey, Rayleigh & Dillon. The teens clearly won the day.

And just like that spring was over. We’re gearing up for a fun summer.
