Daily recap

Today was all about recovery. Rayleigh woke up feeling ill, so we rearranged our schedule to allow her a day of rest and recovery. The other 3 kids swam, played games, and completed book work. Dillon joined Grammy and I for some coffee, gelatto, and light shopping down by the marina. Kevin put in a full day of work poolside and those of us who were feeling well enjoyed a great dinner of baked grouper.

Highlights

  • Breakfast fun
A photo of two pancakes decorated to look like a clown. The bottom pancake is the body and has three banana slices for buttons. The top pancake is the head and has Nutella hair, blueberry eyes, a strawberry nose, and a mouth made of chocolate chips.
Dillon got creative with his breakfast.
  • Night swimming
A photo of the pool at night, lit up by red lights on the posts of the screens and a violet light in the pool itself
The pool’s lighting at night was extremely cool.

Kevin working

This is what working remotely looks like—you work from wherever you happen to be, which could be your office at home, or it could be the pool deck in a rental house in Florida.
  • Lunch on the lanai

We got some local oranges, which were delicious.
  • School book-work

Just because we’re traveling doesn’t mean the kids get a reprieve from learning. We started our day with math and spelling lessons.
  • Rayleigh spent the day sleeping off some illness
A photo of Rayleigh sleeping on a couch under a blanket
Rayleigh wasn’t feeling well and spent nearly the whole day sleeping on the couch.

I’m hoping she doesn’t share her germs and wakes up ready for adventure.
