Daily recap

Today, Kelsey took the kids back to the Kennedy Space Center for a second day of exploration while Kevin worked from the hotel and got us caught up on laundry.

Highlights

  • Playing in the Planet Play indoor space-themed learning playground
A photo of Dillon, Rayleigh, Ainsley, and Grayson playing a video game that is controlled by the movement of their bodies called "Rover Racers"
Of course our kids found a 4-player video game.
  • Learning about the space shuttle pilot training program
A photo of Rayleigh, Grayson, and Ainsley in front of a space shuttle training jet
In order to be on the list to pilot the space shuttle, you had to have at least 1,000 successful landings in this jet, which was modified to behave similarly to the shuttle.
  • Learning about how to poop in space
A photo of Ainsley sitting on a replica of a space station toilet
Everybody poops, even astronauts!
  • Trying our hand at simulators

Teamwork makes the dream work.
A photo of Ainsley operating the space shuttle landing simulator with the words "Great Job" on the screen, indicating a successful landing
Ainsley succeeded at landing the space shuttle in the simulator.
A photo of Rayleigh operating the space shuttle landing simulator
I don’t know, Rayleigh, it looks like you’re listing pretty hard to port there …

No one remembers what this is.
A photo of Kelsey holding Grayson and smiling at him, while he makes a silly face
Besties.
A photo of Dillon touching part of a replica of the inside of a space capsule
Dillon wanted to know if the replica was made of metal, plastic, or cardboard. (It was plastic.)
A photo of Ainsley in a tunnel, taken through the wire mesh that forms the tunnel wall
Ainsley exploring a tunnel in Planet Play, which is the Kennedy Space Center’s indoor space-themed playground.
A photo of Dillon climbing into a tunnel that is under a sign that says "Wormholes" and has some information about wormholes on it
Planet Play really embraced the idea of learning through play.

And now for your moment of zen…
